Much better than DS version December 15, 2007 Beagle-Lover (San Diego, CA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
A review in IGN' website gave only a 15% rate for the DS version of "Spelling Challenges and More". It complains that the game does not pronounce the word but flash the word for one second before you spell it out. Fortunately, PSP version DID speaks the word out. The spelling bee part is good but other tests are a little boring, such as ask you to find a noun from several words. Overall, it is a very nice game. Highly recommend.
More fun than you might think. November 18, 2007 Endarkened (Bowie, MD) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This game is really a lot of fun. Sometimes the first word of the spelling bee is not given (so you have to have the word repeated). One missed opportunity is that the game does not have a learning component to help you become a better speller. The definitions given are brief usually only a word or two, sometimes they aren't enough help. Another glitch in the program is that you should advance one level even if you miss a word on the final spelling bee. If you reach the final spelling bee several times without advancing you should be demoted a level. I have had the game a week now and I am age 37 and on level 42 considering there are 100 levels and I am a terrible speller it should keep me occupied till at least June 08. This game is easy enough for an adult or a child, there is no violence in it and it still remains fun. I hope other titles like this come out something like Spanish, French, German, ACT, SAT, GRE, GMAT, I think the sky is the limit. I applaud this company and its effort.
