Caillou doesn't talk or move! October 9, 2008 Ralaina J. R. Hunley (Bowling Green, KY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My sons (5 & 3) love Caillou but don't love this game! The games are VERY simple, boring, and not much fun. What I mean by simple is that there is very little that you get to do and they could have been created for computers ten+ years ago. The Caillou character doesn't talk and you cannot move him around (except on the flying game where he moves just like a mouse arrow, he never moves his arms or legs), there is just a narrator which is no fun. The ABC game is slightly better because the voice on it seems to be the father's voice (while it is just a woman's voice on the other game). On other kids' educational games you have more options and fun surprises to discover (such as on Jump Start First Grade, Elmo, Clifford where you can click on things and cause things to happen, mustard and ketchup to dance on JSFG, Elmo to eat a cupcake or turn off the lights on him, sounds and making things move on Clifford); on Caillou each game is just what it is. While this makes it easy to navigate the game and easy for younger children, this game will not grow with them and is unlikely to teach them because it doesn't engage them. My sons were really disappointed in the game and will only play a few minutes at most.
