5 out of 5 stars Loved it but..   November 12, 2008

I ordered this on October 30 and it arrived 5 days earlier than it was supposed too, which is good. I used to have that game in 2004, but now that I got it again I have an Xbox 360 and since I knew it was a great game, I ordered it.

Today I received the game, put the game disc in, and when it showed the "Xbox" sign it said "The region code does not match the region code on the console. Please enter a disc with the same region code".

I was so disappointed! My favourite game ended up to not be region-free!

5 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS GAME.   July 16, 2008

Go buy it, just don't forget to get rid of D.O.A. Ultimate 1. It stinks!

5 out of 5 stars HELLA AWESOME FIGHTING 9.5 OUT OF 10   December 2, 2007
ACEMAN1 (Ripon, California)
Dead or Alive is still one of my favorite games to play because it's just so damn good. Dead or Alive 2 has solid visuals that really show the Xbox's tech at its best along with some of the sickest fighting in gaming, along with the most lucious ladies(closely followed by Rumble Roses). Dead or Alive 1 is still solid, but it's the weakest link in this awesome package. The visuals haven't been redone and the fighting still lacks. But Dead or Alive still has some of the best fighting in gaming, and nothing will ever change that because it will always be awesome. If you love fighting games you'll this excellent package.

3 out of 5 stars DOA 2 Hardcore   September 5, 2007

I have the PS2 version of this game and I thought it was pretty good, not as good as Tekken but still good. What I really wanted to write was that the original DOA was released in the United States on PS1, I own it and it sucks by the way.

4 out of 5 stars As good as any other top fighter, just nicer graphics.   August 8, 2006

DOA ultimate is a good fighter. It is probably third when compared to its contemporaries, Soul Calibur II and Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution. I personally feel that including DOA 1 was useless, but some people like it. If you are a fighter nut and have never tried DOA I'd say get it. All you need to remember is as soon as you open it go to the place in the manual about the counter system, and learn it well. It is the key to success. It is easy to some people, hard to others. Like in real martial arts, you need to be able to determine the angle of the attack before it gets far, the differences in the game being high, mid, and low, like other fighters. Train your eye in this and DOA 2 ultimate won't be impossible, but still a challenge.

I am a martial arts buff, so my only complaint about DOA 2 Ultimate is the lack of realism. The counter system is about as close as it gets to real martial arts. The Ninja characters (why do we need 3 of them?) are the most prominent example. This is no big deal, since every single fighter ever made has some unrealistic stuff in it, even Virtua Fighter 4. It just serves to make things interesting. It probably has to do with the popularity of martial arts in Japan. When you spend your life practicing the real thing for an hour or so a day, a little fantasy in your games is welcome.

If you like fighters, buy it. It is among the best, which is close enough.
